Join the Foster Crew at Downtown Community Church

We are SO excited to be partnering with One More Child and launching our very own DCC Foster Crew! We love our sweet foster families and are thrilled to be intentionally serving them as a church family.

We are looking for folks who are interested in serving on the Advocate Team, as a Meal Maker, or a Super Sitter! Sign up to receive more information!

Foster Crew Team Positions

Advocate Team: 
The Advocate communicates with the foster family, builds trust and a 
relationship, and relays their needs and wants to the Foster Crew. 
  • Work cooperatively with Church Staff, Team Leader, and Crew to provide successful care for Foster Families. 
  • Commit to connecting with designated Foster Family at least bi-weekly to talk about current and upcoming needs. 
  • Actively seek to meet the tangible needs of the Foster Family through methods such as posting needed items on church Foster Crew Facebook group, researching online to find items, and connecting with church members to help secure items. 

Meal Maker: 
Serves foster family by providing easy meals for the family to 
enjoy together. 
  • Work cooperatively with Church Staff, Team Leader, and Foster Crew team members to provide successful care for Foster Families. 
  • Commit to connecting with Foster Crew Advocate at least biweekly to receive updates on Foster Family’s current needs. 
    • Examples: homemade food, freezer meals, takeout, gift cards, etc. 

Super Sitter:
Serves foster families by caring for the children at the church to 
provide the parents with some free time. 
  • Work cooperatively with Church Staff, Team Leader, and Crew to provide successful care for Foster Families. 
  • Commit to completing and complying with required church childcare screenings prior to caring for children at the church to provide Foster Families with a few hours of childcare. 
  • Commit to connecting with Foster Crew Advocate at least biweekly to receive updates on Foster Family’s current needs.
